Troubles with Tribbles with A-(New)-Clip

Akt, also known as protein kinase B (PKB), is a protein kinase family composed of three members, Akt1, Akt2 and Akt3. Akt family members regulate a diverse array of cellular functions including apoptosis, cellular proliferation, differentiation and intermediary metabolism. We have isolated two novel Akt interaction proteins: TRB3 and Aclip. The overall goal of our lab is to determine the function of TRB3 and Aclip. Specifically, we will determine how the TRB family of proteins regulate cell differentiation and apoptosis via Akt dependent or independent mechanism and we will determine how Aclip regulates glucose homeostasis via modulating glucose uptake in adipose and muscles.
