My laboratory focuses on the molecular processes driving CNS malignancies. One of our major research efforts is the development and testing of RNA interference-mediated targeted therapeutics in genetically engineered mouse models of brain cancer. In addition, we focus on key basic research questions including functional elucidation of specific gene mutations in the tumorigenic program of brain cancer and to determine how the cellular context in which the mutations occur influences the outcome of these genetic lesions. I am absolutely convinced that a deep understanding of the biological and genetic determinants of this malignancy will no doubt result in major clinical advances.
